On the day that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is officially repealed, and twenty-two days before National Coming Out Day, this man exemplifies bravery by coming out to his father and a friend.
Remaining in the closet is one of the most difficult things a person can go through. The knowledge of being gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender never leaves you. And if you’re forced to keep silent it becomes a burden that you always carry. I can’t imagine the emotional toll someone faces while being in the closet and being an active member of the armed forces.
I’m so thankful that Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is repealed. For today, men and women in the United States can finally serve their country, regardless of their sexual orientation.
I’m not the biggest Bollywood fanatic. But every now and then I like to sprinkle some Bollywood songs into my playlists. Whether it’s my workout or a “relaxing” mix, desi songs can make my playlists a little more garam.
Check out some of my favorites, and maybe you’ll add a little masala to your iTunes?
Is there anything better than Shah Rukh Khan dancing on a train? (The answer is no)
Possibly one of my favorite Bollywood songs of all time. I have danced to this song in my kitchen more times then I’d like to admit.
Punjabiyan Di Shaan
I’m a Guju girl, but this Punjabi song gets me movin.
Morni Baga Ma Bole
An oldie but a goodie! This sentimental love song reminds me of my childhood.
The love is a lemon metaphor stands the test of time.
Bum Bum Bole
This is my instant mood-lifter song. Picturing Aamir Khan dancing in a clown suit doesn’t hurt either.
Me against the Music [Bhangra Remix]
Ok so this isn’t a Bollywood song. But it’s a great mesh of bhangra and pop music, and popular hit for workout and party mixes.

According to Leo Tolstoy:
In order correctly to define art, it is necessary, first of all, to cease to consider it as a means to pleasure and to consider it as one of the conditions of human life. Viewing it in this way we cannot fail to observe that art is one of the means of intercourse between man and man.
